In November I ran a session looking at creating abstract backgrounds for a group of calligraphy artists in Gloucester. The group Gloucester Lettering Arts were so lovely and welcoming. We tried a variety of different effects using materials they would usually have in their arts stash and that could be used with their Calligraphy mediums.
Some of the group were a bit apprehensive at first but they soon got into the swing of things. I started off by going through colour palettes to make sure they didn't get into a big muddy mess. We then looked at different techniques and rounded it off by them having a go and playing. They created so much work and I think they enjoyed themselves! You can read their write up here
